A retailer in the United Kingdom is dropping analog radios from its online product offering.
As iPod and MP3 players dominate the portable audio market, Dixsons, a consumer electronics “e-tailer” in the U.K., is dropping analog radios, according to a marketing group that promotes Eureka-147 in the United Kingdom. The group said the decision follows growth in the sale of digital radios, and expansion in the number and range of digital transmitters. The marketers claim digital radios are now outselling analog radios by 30:1 at dixons.co.uk.
Dixons Tax Free airport stores and stores in the Republic of Ireland will continue to stock analog radios.
