Opticodecs Used for Internet Link

KLTX(AM) bought four Orban Opticodec 7400 codecs to transmit programming from its Pasadena studios. The chief engineer is Dan Feely. The codecs feed XEXX(AM) in Tijuana over the Internet using TCP/IP. Feely also has used the 7400 to feed programming to another station via T1. He said he has created a “mini wide-area network” using the codecs. Dealer BSW sold the units to the station. Info: www.orban.com.
