Orban/CRL has released a new driver for its Optimod PC 1100, a DAB audio processor on a PCI sound card.
Added features include MS Windows Mixer APL; MS Windows Metering API; and enhanced card recognition for more reliable and stable multi-card operation.
Also included are support for the 32 and 64 bit Windows XP WDM audio driver, and the 32 and 64 bit Vista Core WDM audio driver; PCI bus mastering, new ASCII serial and serial to closure control; and improved AGC performance.
According to John F. Schaab, the company’s director of PC products, the improvements not only bring Vista compliance but, because the Window Mixer is now supported, Optimod-PC’s processing and mixing capabilities can be integrated easily into applications that previously may have needed a different sound card.
This allows Optimod-PC to be used in new applications like ad insertion, distance learning and teleconferencing, which can benefit from the clarity and consistency of a professional broadcast audio processor, he said.
Orban also debuted Opticodec 1010PE-LS8, LS16 and ES6 high-density AAC/aacPlus/3G Enterprise encoding applications. The LS packages work with the Lynx AES16 digital I/O board, while the ES6 works with the Echo AudioFire12 analog I/O device.
The LS8 supports eight primary and eight backup live source encoders with one Lynx card, while the LS16 supports 16 primary and 16 backup live source encoders with two Lynx cards; all on an enterprise-level computer running Windows XP, Server 2003 or Vista. The ES supports six primary and six backup analog live source encoders.
