Orban/CRL announced the implementation of Coding Technologies’ latest improvements to the aacPlus encoder engine.
The aacPlus encoder engine, announced by Coding Technologies in January, is said to increase the efficiency of the codec. “Improvements include advanced speech handling and high-quality streaming; near-CD quality can now be achieved at 48 kbs in stereo,” the manufacturer stated.
Orban said its planned 5.1 surround sound applications will use the improvements to reduce bit rate by 20 percent without compromising subjective quality.
It said it will offer free upgrades to all Opticodec 1010PE and 1020FE Enterprise users.
