PAMA Has First Meeting

Members of the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance met officially for the first time when 18 industry executives gathered in Orlando to nominate a board and launch several initiatives.
The association hopes to be the combined voice of companies in the pro audio industry, monitor and communication information on trends, promote industry initiatives on topics such as standards, education and lobbying and organize executive meetings.
PAMA was founded in New York by Paul Gallo. Seven executives were nominated to become directors of the nonprofit association. Other intiatives included planning for a task force of microphone manufacturers to develop a sales-tracking program for the microphone marketplace and the creation of a subgroup to develop bylaws and a charter for PAMA.
Twenty-four manufacturers have agreed to join. The next meeting will be held before the AES Convention in New York in October.
