Pandora wants to expand its local sales efforts into secondary and tertiary markets.
In order to accomplish that, the personalized Internet audio service has begun a reseller program which allows local media companies to sell Pandora inventory bundled with their own advertising products. The aim, according to the company, is to use mobile advertising to reach consumers on-the-go.
More than 800 local ad campaigns are scheduled to air this year on Pandora, a 100% increase from two months ago, according to the company.
Many of those are newspapers trying to increase their reach through Pandora, like the Miami Herald and the Salt Lake Tribune.
Pandora has the ability to help advertisers reach targeted audiences through both visual and audio ad formats, according to Chief Revenue Officer John Trimble.
