Pandora has enlarged its Washington presence over the years, and has now started a political action committee.
The Hill reports Federal Election Commission filings reveal the Internet audio service launched the PAC last month to contribute funds to political campaigns and candidates.
The move comes as Pandora is trying to persuade the Copyright Royalty Board to lower its rates for streaming royalties.
However, bills in Congress, like the RESPECT Act, would require Internet audio services to pay more royalties by adding royalties for music recorded before 1972; such recordings are currently exempt from federal copyright laws.
