Audio streamer Pandora has added a new position that the company says emphasizes its partnership with the music industry.
New Vice President of Music Maker Product Management Shamal Ranasinghe joins the company with 17 years of experience in the music industry. He has worked with Topspin, Yahoo! Music, Musicmatch, and most recently Fluence.
Ranasinghe will report directly to Pandora’s Chief Product Officer Chris Phillips, effective June 29. He will be based at the Oakland headquarters.
He “will enable the company’s product team to harness insights and data for the benefit of music makers.” Shamal will be responsible for defining and driving the product strategy for the Music Makers Experience, focusing on Pandora’s Artist Marketing Platform.
