Pandora Strikes Deal With Warner/Chappell Music

Agreement modernizes royalty structure

Streaming platform Pandora has signed a multiyear licensing agreement with music publishing company Warner/Chappell Music.

The specific terms of the direct publishing deal are confidential, but a release said it will help to modernize compensation and innovate in that space. The deal is said to improve performance royalties for songwriters. It also enables Pandora to have greater certainty about rates while ensuring flexibility about the library.

“We are thrilled to partner with Warner/Chappell Music, which has represented many of the most talented songwriters …” said Pandora CEO Brian McAndrews. “Pandora is proud to be part of their tradition of maximizing the value of music publishing and talent.”
