Internet audio streamer Pandora has rolled out Artist Audio Messaging, a feature that allows artists on Pandora to send messages to followers.
In its first stage, it is simply a trial run, but Pandora Founder Tim Westergren thought enough of it that he blogged about it. “We’re excited by the range of possibilities of what these messages could be: a tour announcement, new album drop, a crowd-funding campaign, the story behind their latest song or simply a thank you to fans for listening.”
At the moment, Pandora is limiting the feature to a handful of artists and watching what happens.
