The Canadian Association of Broadcasters ended its annual convention this week with the Gold Ribbon Awards. Jim Pattison won the Gold Ribbon for Broadcast Excellence; he is an entrepreneur specializing in small markets in British Columbia and Alberta. The award for outstanding community service by an individual broadcaster was given to Hudson Mack. Bruce Cockburn was inducted into the music star category of the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame. Community service honors went to CKFM(FM), Toronto; CKOM, Saskatoon; and CJAT(FM), Trail.
