Cumulus Media will do radio distribution for concert and music specials from Courtside Entertainment; it will also handle ad sales.
Courtside is a production and finance venture of Westwood One founder and Chairman Norm Pattiz. The announcement was made by Dennis Green, SVP of affiliate sales and broadcast operations for Cumulus Media Networks, and Bob Moore, president of Courtside Entertainment Group.
Moore says in the announcement, “It’s safe to say that our Chairman Norm Pattiz has been responsible for more music specials and big events for all formats than anyone else in the history of modern radio.”
The first planned show will be a 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones, to air Memorial Day Weekend. Also planned are features for country, rock, CHR and top 40 formats during the July 4and Labor Day weekends.
