National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting Service are teaming up online.
The broadcast entities will co-produce live Web events, cross-promote each other’s programs, collaborate in e-commerce efforts and bring NPR News content to the PBS.org Web site.
NPR and PBS together generate more than 20 million hits per week on their Web sites, according to a joint press release issued by the two organizations at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, Calif. Monday. The PBS Web site will feature NPR’s hourly news updates and other NPR audio content beginning this spring.
In July, the two networks plan to announce reciprocal underwriting announcements on PBS and NPR programs.
