Anabella Poland Is New President of CBI

College Broadcasters Inc. serves students and advisors of college and high school electronic media

From our People News page: Anabella Poland is the new president of College Broadcasters Inc.

Poland, general manager of WMSC(FM) at Montclair State University in New Jersey, was elected to the volunteer CBI position. She succeeds John Morris, who held the post for six years.

Before joining Montclair State, Poland was director of talent and industry relations at SiriusXM Radio. Before that she was a segment producer at “ABC News Good Morning America”; her work has also appeared on “ABC World News,” “20/20” and “Nightline.”

Under Poland, the campus station has earned several national college radio awards and was nominated four times for NAB Marconi Awards.

“I have yet to find another space quite like college radio that allows college students to work in the real world — not professional but real world — while they let their creativity soar,” she told Radio World recently. “And in the process of all of this, they find their true self, their true passion, their unique voice.”

CBI serves students and advisers of college and high school electronic media outlets with events, networking and advocacy. It also has been a voice for college radio stations in the Sound Exchange rate-setting process.
