Radio executives Bud Walters of Cromwell Media and Bob Pittman of iHeartMedia are among nine people named as “Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts” by the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation.
Also being honored are the late celebrity chef Julia Child; Deb McDermott, CEO of Standard Media Group; Sean McManus, chairman of CBS Sports; actress S. Epatha Merkerson; Adam Symson, president/CEO of E.W. Scripps Co.; Pete Williams, retired Justice correspondent for NBC News; and Fareed Zakaria of CNN and the Washington Post.

The recipients will be honored for lifetime achievement in November at LABF’s annual award ceremony hosted by “Nightline” co-anchor Juju Chang, produced by the International Radio and Television Society Foundation.
The Giants program began in 2003, and LABF has recognized more than 230 industry leaders since.
LABF’s work includes the Library of American Broadcasting, housed at the University of Maryland.
