FCC Media Bureau Adds Two to Leadership Staff

Maarbjerg, Morris take new roles

The Federal Communications Commission announced two appointments to the Media Bureau’s leadership staff. Lori Maarbjerg joins as deputy bureau chief, while Evan Morris becomes associate bureau chief.

Maarbjerg is currently chief of staff in the commission’s Office of Legislative Affairs, where she serves as primary liaison with Capitol Hill offices on media issues and other congressional-related matters. She’s a former senior attorney advisor in OLA. She joined the commission in 2002. She is a former legislative counsel and assistant general counsel for the National Association of Broadcasters.

Morris has served as a legal advisor to the Media Bureau Chief since 2019.  He joined the commission in 2013 as an attorney advisor in the Media Bureau’s Video Division. Prior, he worked in government affairs at Harris Corp. (now L3Harris), primarily advocating for the Broadcast Division (now GatesAir), and in legislative affairs for Cablevision Systems Corp. (now Altice U.S.A).

The announcement was made by Media Bureau Chief Holly Saurer.
