Fletcher Heald Adds Former Media Bureau Attorney

Ryan McClafferty has joined Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth as an associate attorney.

McClafferty is a former attorney advisor in the Media Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission, where he drafted rulemaking orders and adjudicatory decisions on broadcasting and media matters.

“At the FCC, McClafferty’s work earned him a Special Achievement Award for exceptional legal analysis and writing,” the law firm said in the announcement.

“His practice at Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth will focus on telecommunications regulatory matters and transactions, media law and FCC compliance.”

He also has worked as an attorney in private practice, advising clients on federal regulatory and legislative matters. He was an oversight and investigations law clerk for the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. McClafferty received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
