Molly Davis will join the Radio Research Consortium as chief operating officer, a newly created position, in August.
She comes to RRC after 10 years as assistant general manager of public radio station WFDD(FM) in Winston-Salem, N.C., where she has worked since 2005 in development and marketing. She has been a member of RRC’s board of directors for five years. RRC quoted Davis as describing herself as a “data geek.”
The announcement was made by Steve Schram, chair of RRC’s board, who highlighted Davis’ “unique blend of skills and experience” and “nearly 20 years of leadership at WFDD and active involvement as a presenter to national public media organizations.”
RRC said that during her time at WFDD, “the station saw significant growth in revenue, diversified its revenue streams and established innovative new event strategies, all of which led to increased community engagement and an expanded local news service.”
Davis is also on the board of Eastern Region Public Media.
RRC is a not-for-profit research firm that contracts with Nielsen to produce local market audience estimates for non-commercial radio stations. It has approximately 300 subscribers among public radio and noncom religious broadcasters in the United States.
The interim president of RRC is Carol Jacobs after President Joanne Church died in May.
