Philadelphia's WBEB to Get Arbitron PPM Ratings

Jerry Lee’s WBEB(FM), in Philadelphia, has signed a four-year contract with Arbitron for its Portable People Meter-based audience ratings service in Philadelphia. The contract anticipates a start date of January 2007.
Lee, president and owner of WBEB, was recently recognized with the 2006 Hugh Malcom Beville Jr. award from the NAB and Broadcast Education Association for excellence in broadcast research.
“I became a believer in the power of the Portable People Meter during Arbitron’s 2002 market trial in Philadelphia,” said Lee. “The new PPM ratings system will demonstrate to advertisers that radio stations reach far more listeners than we have gotten credit for with paper and pencil methods.”
