Philly Man Who Posed as Radio Employee Held

The man suspected of switching Philadelphia’s WIOQ(FM) request line to his own number and assaulting a 17-year-old station fan has been arrested and is being held on $800,000 bail. According to the Philadelphia Daily News, William Passarella has been charged with several counts, including: kidnapping, assault and falsely impersonating a private employee.
WLDW Promotion Manager Rob Zilla also told the paper he called the police after Passarella also rerouted his station’s contest phone line through Verizon. Zilla says William Passarella posed as a station employee in each case to get Verizon to re-route the numbers.
