“Piolín” Back on Network Radio

Will launch new program on 16 Entravision stations

Piolín will be back on network radio.

Latino-focused Entravision Communications says Eddie “Piolín” Sotelo will launch a morning show airing weekdays 6–10 a.m. (PST) beginning Jan. 5.

His show on Univision Radio was cancelled last year after allegations of sexual harassment and workplace humiliations. Piolín then sued six former Univision employees alleging extortion; that suit has since been dismissed.

After leaving Univision he went to SiriusXM starting in October of last year; the satellite show was recently cancelled.

Univision is an investor in Entravision, which also is the largest affiliate group of the Univision television network and Univision’s UniMás network. Piolín’s earlier network show had been heard on some Entravision radio stations between 2006 and early 2012.

Entravision Solutions, the company’s national sales and marketing arm, will retain the exclusive rights to handle network advertising sales for “El Show de Piolín,” which will be syndicated via Alliance Radio Network. Entravision Solutions will also sell national advertising.

In a statement, Jeffery Liberman, COO of Entravision, called his return to network radio “nothing short of monumental.” He said the move also will strengthen Entravision Solutions as “the premier advertising sales organization for syndicated Spanish-language content nationally. ”

“El Show de Piolín” will broadcast via KLNZ(FM) in Phoenix; KMXX(FM) in El Centro-Yuma, Calif; KSSC(FM)/ KSSD(FM)/ KSSE(FM) in Los Angeles-Ventura, Calif.; KLOK(FM) in Monterey, Calif; KPST(FM) in Palm Springs, Calif.; KRCX(FM) in Sacramento, Calif., and KMIX(FM) in Stockton, Calif.; KPVW(FM) in Aspen, Colo.; KXPK(FM) in Denver; KQRT(FM) in Las Vegas; KRNV(FM) in Reno, Nev.; KYSE(FM) in El Paso, Texas; KAIQ(FM) in Lubbock, Texas; and KKPS(FM) in McAllen- Brownsville-Harlingen, Texas.
