Pirates Invite Skyview Networks Onboard

Company to supply broadcast ad management software

The Pittsburgh Pirates might stink like a rotting fish on the field these days (and the last few years), but on the business side they’ve set sail with a new broadcast ad traffic and management system, Skyview Networks.

The Arizona-based company will provide its F.A.S.T. (Flexible Audio Storage Technology) inventory management system and Live Read Software to the Pirates radio broadcast operation. Each installation is customized to the user’s needs.

The system will handle scheduling, tracking, logging, live reads, clearance, affidavits and billing.

Marc Garda, Pirates director of broadcasting, states: “The solution they provide is exactly what we needed to streamline the process of managing our broadcast inventory.”

Skyview aims at sports broadcasters and includes the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Cardinals amongst its baseball clients along with the Orlando Magic basketball team and Carolina Hurricanes hickey team.

(We apologize to any Pirates fans offended by our lead sentence, though we note that the team does have the second-worst winning percentage in Major League Baseball at the moment. Finally, someone worse than our Washington Nationals.)
