Pittman Will Talk at Fall Radio Show

Clear Channel exec to speak at Radio Show

While it’s not quite the equivalent of declaring “total war,” Bob Pittman, chairman of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Platforms, will be declaring “Total Radio” at the upcoming Radio Show in Chicago, Sept. 14–16.

Pittman, whose résumé includes important stints at America Online, Time Warner, MTV, Century 21 and Six Flags, will oversee a Super Session entitled “Total Radio.” The session will examine “the overall positioning of radio and how digital fits into the landscape,” according to a release from NAB.

The announcement states: “‘Total Radio’ will draw on Pittman’s experience in the evolving media landscape to address the impact of digital technology on the radio business. Pittman will also discuss how Clear Channel Radio, with its on-air footprint and digital properties such as iHeartRadio, is engaging listeners however and wherever they go.”

President/CEO of the Radio Advertising Bureau Jeff Haley said Pittman brings a unique perspective on the evolution of media and radio’s digital future.
