Bridge Ratings said users of traditional radio spent less time with podcasts over the last 30 days.
Its monthly study of a panel of podcast users “indicates that overall use dropped to 49% of the total sample ages 12-64, down from 52% in April and 61% during July 2005. The sample represents 8% of a total sample of traditional radio users interviewed.”
Company President/CEO Dave Van Dyke said the percentage of the 12-24 demographic that said they had listened to a podcast in the last 30 days had a sharp upswing, moving from 53% to 60%, and that 25-34-year-olds improved from 45% to 49%.
But podcast use among respondents 35+ and overall 12+ continues to decline.
