PodcastOne Chooses Smith as CTO

He replaces Rob Greenlee

PodcastOne has named Kris Smith as its new chief technology officer. Smith replaces Rob Greenlee, who will be starting his own consulting firm — with PodcastOne as its first client.

“He has been creating podcasts and associated technology well before the medium ever went mainstream,” said CEO Norm Pattiz.

Smith has over a decade of experience in the medium, and has spent his career designing and developing digital products, in addition to founding one of the first podcast production companies in 2005. He will be based at PodcastOne’s Beverly Hills offices and studios.

PodcastOne is ad-supported and currently hosts approximately 200 podcasts, including Adam Carolla, Steve Austin, Dan Patrick, Shawn and Larry King, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Rich Eisen, Ross Mathews, Kathie Lee Gifford, Chris Jericho, Chael Sonnen, Dennis Miller, Jay Mohr, WNYC’s Radiolab and Freakonomics Radio, Loveline, Laura Ingraham, Penn Jillette, Ross Tucker and Yahoo! Sports Radio.
