NAB has assured at least one exhibitor for the radio show that it is doing everything possible to ensure the safety of people and show exhibit materials in San Francisco. A coalition of pro-LPFM groups is planning demonstrations across from the Moscone Center during the radio show. The overall intent of the group is to shut down the radio show, or at least, disrupt NAB’s Webcasts from San Francisco. Especially big demonstrations are planned to coincide with retired General Colin Powell’s keynote speech and the Marconi awards dinner.
NAB has been working with the mayor’s office and local police “for months” on the safety issues and says they will be on a “high state of alert” during the show.
