Roughly 150 attendees are here in Las Vegas for the seventh annual Public Radio Engineering Conference, jointly produced by NPR Labs and the Association of Public Radio Engineers.
An update on conditional access tests at WUSF(FM), Tampa and upcoming developments related to Ibiquity Digital transmission software are being discussed; other topics to be covered include file-based workflows, online media distribution, Internet security and facility upgrades.
The APRE worked with PBS to develop sessions for this year’s conference. APRE was formed last year at this time. The bylaws for the new group are nearly complete and with that, “we will have a document that will define the membership,” said APRE President Ralph Hogan as he opened the meeting.
