Clear Channel’s program syndicator Premiere Networks is pushing the company’s Evolution brand outward with a program called “Evolution with Pete Tong,” hosted by the British DJ. Tong specializes in electronic dance music.
Clear Channel has two stations that use the format — WEDX(FM) in Boston and a Miami translator, W228BY — along with a dedicated iHeartRadio streamer.
The program is a weekly one-hour set designed to highlight “best music from the biggest DJs and dance music producers in the world,” according to a release.
The show, currently airing on 80 stations, “is available for air Tuesday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to midnight local time,” the release explains.
Tong is quoted, “By partnering with Premiere to develop ‘Evolution with Pete Tong,’ we will be giving more terrestrial stations a great entry point for broadcasting EDM content on-air, and a platform to break and showcase more Electronic Music across America.”
