Premiere Promotes Engineer Hickey

Senior VP will oversee studio and engineering facilities

Program syndicator Premiere Networks has promoted Bill Hickey from vice president to senior VP of engineering.

He will continue to report to Premiere Networks President for Content and Affiliate Relations Julie Talbott.

A Premiere release describes the move: “Hickey will now be responsible for directing all studio operations and administration, while continuing to oversee engineering and technical operations for Premiere Networks’ studio facilities nationwide, including Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Chicago and Florida.”

In addition he will continue to manage the XDS satellite and Internet-based delivery systems, network operations center, and other studio and construction projects, “as well as supervise a team of nearly 50 employees.”

Before joining Premiere, Hickey was director of engineering for San Francisco’s KGO(AM), 1997–2004. Before that he was chief for the Buck Owens Production Co. in Bakersfield, Calif. Hickey’s work at Premiere has included building out facilities for Premiere talent such as Delilah, Jim Rome and Steve Harvey.
