Premiere Teams With Polycom for Planned CMA Remote

Syndicator trumpets video and ‘telepresence’ for its affiliates

Program syndicator Premiere Radio Networks, part of Clear Channel, will be working with teleconference communications equipment manufacturer Polycom to bring access to Premiere’s remote preshow broadcasts Country Music Association Awards to half a dozen stations.

The stations — WUBL(FM) in Atlanta, WMZQ(FM) in Washington, WSSL(FM) in Greenville, S.C., WBCT(FM) in Grand Rapids, Mich., KTST(FM) in Oklahoma City and WYRK(FM) in Buffalo, N.Y. — will have a Polycom-provided video link to the November show.

Premiere and Polycom positioned this as a “new agreement that will revolutionize the way radio stations participate in remote broadcasts.”

Stations can interview music talent via live video, “thus minimizing on-site staff to a single representative.” The stations will be able to post video of the interviews on their own websites.
