Public Radio International received a three-year, $5 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to produce and distribute global health and development content.
By creating stories for use on-air and online, PRI said it hopes to raise awareness of global health and development issues and elevate such reporting to prominence among national media.
PRI will use its productions to produce and distribute the stories, including the PRI and WNYC Radio co-production “The Morning Show,” a live news program slated to launch in 2008 with partners BBC World Service, the “New York Times” and WGBH Radio Boston; PRI’s “The World,” and collaborations with other producers.
