Podtrac is out with a ranking of top new podcasts of 2022, and “The Trojan Horse Affair” from the New York Times and Serial Productions comes out on top. 
The company based its list on average downloads per episode across podcast listening apps. Shows must be new since Dec. 1, 2021.
“Trojan Horse” is an eight-party mystery podcast. No. 2 in the rankings is “Rachel Maddow Presents: Ultra” from NBC News, about the World War II-era Great Sedition Trial. “Twin Flames” from Wondery is third.
Wondery has the most shows on the list, with eight of the top 25. NBC News and iHeartPodcasts each has five.
