Prometheus Radio Project is holding a webinar Wednesday night at 8 p.m. Eastern devoted to low-power FM applications.
The FCC has recently revised the form to apply for an LPFM station and announced the agency will accept those forms beginning Oct. 15 until Oct. 29. The commission has urged those who want to apply for the new facilities to begin preparing their paperwork now.
The webinar aims to teach listeners the basics to start or support a new community radio station, including the application process.
Oregon Farmworker Union President Ramon Ramirez is the guest speaker. Prometheus helped the union build an LPFM in 2006. Members have used the facility to organize workers, register voters and support campaigns on immigration reform.
