Prometheus Radio Project Visits Phoenix

LPFM opportunities abound for those interested, says group

Current and would-be LPFMers in the Grand Canyon State might want to make sure they are in Phoenix this Friday at the offices of the “Puente” activist group.

There, organizers from the Prometheus Radio Project will be holding an informal information session. Prometheus has been heavily involved in the promotion of LPFM radio projects.

The Prometheus folks will explain the opportunities recently opened up by the Local Community Radio Act and explain the realities of organizing and running a local community radio station. Radio World recently reported on expectations brought about by the act, including one estimation that as many as 10,000 applications for LPFM licenses might arise.
