Prometheus Radio Welcomes Allan Gomez

New Station Support Director will help the create “Voice of the Voiceless”

Prometheus Radio reports that it has added Allan Gomez as station support director, based in Philadelphia.

A proponent of community radio’s role in social justice, Gomez has worked internationally to promote media and radio, including in Ecuador and Colombia, a release says.

He was a founder of Chicago-based volunteer group Radios Populares, which travelled throughout the Americas to help build community radio stations, present workshops and provide tech and organizational support to women’s health groups, indigenous schools, farmers’ movements and teachers’ unions.

Prior to his current role, Gomez worked on six Prometheus Radio “barnraisings” in the United States.

He is now searching the FCC database for singletons that might qualify as candidates to participate in la Voz de los Sin Voz (Voice of the Voiceless).
