Promo Only Adds Music Service in Canada

Promo Only and Destiny Media Technologies launched what it calls Canada’s first legal online commercial music service.
The Promo Only Digital Download Service uses Promo Only MPE technology. It’s targeted at jocks and other commercial users who want to download music legally for commercial use.
“In the past it was not legal for disc jockeys and commercial establishments to rip a CD onto a computer and use it for public performance, or use a consumer download service to obtain music for use in public performance,” the companies said.
“Though other music download services are available, they aren’t legal for commercial users.”
