About 300 people rallied outside KARE(TV) studios in Golden Valley, Minn. on Monday protesting “The Dr. Laura Schlessinger Show.”
Gay-rights activists have criticized the radio host for comments on homosexuality, which she has called “deviant” and a “biological error.”
However, KARE management said the show will air, starting in September.
John Remes, general manager at KARE, said the decision to purchase the broadcast rights were made before management knew about Schlessinger’s comments.
According to a statement made by Remes, “No opinions of any syndicated programs are the opinions of KARE 11, including ‘The Dr. Laura Schlessinger Show’.”
