Penn State Public Broadcasting has been renamed Penn State Public Media.
The service consists of consists of WPSU(FM), WPSU(TV), the Creative Media Group and Media Sales, and there are plans to expand its mission to include other multimedia content offerings.
According to PSU Executive Director of Public Media Kate Domico, the rebranding is intended to encompass both the value that the service brings to the central Pennsylvania region and the variety of content platforms it includes.
“We will continue to operate as a broadcasting service but have expanded to online content development, and we wanted our name to reflect that,” Domico said. “Penn State Public Media creates compelling original programming, and we will continue to deliver high-quality PBS and NPR content as well.”
The service, which is a division of Penn State Outreach, is housed on the University Park campus in State College, Pa., at Innovation Park.
