California-based equipment maker PTEK said it was nominated by the Department of Commerce to attend a reception earlier this month on the Rose Garden lawn at the White House.
“The reception was held on July 7 and highlighted 60 small U.S. businesses pursuing exports using the services of the Commerce Department,” the company said.
According to CEO Peter Forth, “The invitation came about because PTEK has built a significant business through the Commerce Department’s export program, under which it shipped transmitters and other equipment globally to commercial and government users.” He said the invitation was an opportunity to promote radio and talk about challenges facing small businesses and station owners.
The company also has been invited to join a delegation to Iraq in October.
“The Trade Mission will take place in Baghdad to improve U.S. industries’ understanding of commercial opportunities in Iraq and to introduce U.S. industry to the Baghdad business community and government leaders,” it stated.
