Speaking of PTFP, this Friday April 6 is the deadline to apply for 2007 equipment grants.
Congress allocated $20 million for fiscal ‘07 PTFP grants, slightly more than the $19.2 million total in 2006. The 49 radio grants in 2006 ranged from $8,000 to $902,393. The rest of the money went to TV and non-broadcast projects.
The March 7 Federal Register notice announcing the 2007 grants states: “For digital radio conversion projects, NTIA has created a new Subpriority in the Broadcast Other category.”
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Eastern. The room number is new: Public Telecommunications Facilities Program, Room 4812, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20230.
