Pubcast Engineers Plan Their Vegas Event

Discounted registration for full NAB Show with PREC signup ends March 10

They’ll start a day later than in the past, in a bow to economic conditions, but registration is open for this year’s Public Radio Engineering Conference, to be held just prior to the NAB Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The draft agenda includes sessions on moving digital audio around the plant, consequences of transmission methods for audio as well as updates by the Broadcast Traffic Consortium and NPR Labs. The challenges of an FM digital power increase in regards to antennas, combiners, transmitters and other gear will also be discussed.

Discounted registration for the full 2009 NAB Show, including the Broadcast Engineering Conference and other conference sessions, is available with PREC registration only until March 10. After that date, applications will be accepted on a space-available basis for an increased fee. Registration for the standalone PREC (including April 18 Ennes sessions) closes on April 3.

PREC sessions are one day this year to help make the conference more affordable to non-com stations, many of whom have had their travel budgets cut or reduced.
