Public Complains Less About Radio, TV in Q1

The number of consumer complaints to the FCC about radio and TV dropped 50%, from about 318,000 in the fourth quarter of 2004 to 158,000 for the first quarter of this year.
The FCC said the dip coincided with a drop in e-mail or write-in campaigns about specific radio or television broadcasts. The commission’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau, which processes complaints, said inquiries about radio and TV programs dropped from 20,565 in Q4 2004 to 9,072 in Q1 of 2005.
The figures are released quarterly.
