Public radio program producer and distributer Public Radio International has released an expanded version of its iPhone app.
In addition to offering the live stream of PRI content, the app offers the user additional options including on-demand access to PRI programs and program segments, some content from the BBC World Service, feature stories and the option to share content via Twitter, Facebook and e-mail.
The app will be sent as an update to current users’ iPhone and iTouch units; new users can download it free from the iPhone App Store.
PRI Director of Digital Media Development and Distribution Morgan Church said the company would continue to enhance the app to make it easier to interact with PRI material and share it with others.
PRI’s newest production is “The Takeaway” morning-drive news show co-produced with WNYC Radio. Headliners include “This American Life,” “The World,” “The Tavis Smiley Show” and “Studio 360 from PRI and WNYC.”
