Public Warning Meeting Includes EAS

If public warning systems are your bag, here’s the conference for you.
“From Sensors to Citizens: Public Warning in the 21st Century” is the theme of the first conference sponsored by the Partnership for Public Warning, May 15-17 in McLean, Va., near Washington.
The conference aims to provide participants with information on the state of the nation’s major warning systems and an opportunity to identify ways that government and industry can cooperate to improve them.
Organizers say it is the only national conference dedicated to the issues, technologies and policies of public alert and warning.
A special workshop on EAS is included on Thursday afternoon, May 15, for which a ticket can be purchased without registering for the entire event.
Exhibitors include American Signal Corp., Whelen Engineering Co., Reverse 911 and others.
