Pulley: Radio Needs to Tell Its Story Better

“Broadcasters are failing to sufficiently let it be known that radio remains a great vehicle for advertising.”
That’s part of the message from Forbes journalist Brett Pulley in comments on Forbes.com. He also predicts advertising will rebound for broadcast radio this year.
“The broadcasters who serve niche markets, such as ethnic or religious listeners, will enjoy the most growth next year and in the long term.” And he thinks Clear Channel will “successfully decrease the number and length of ads that are aired, yet convince advertisers to pay a premium for the spots.”
However, Pulley sees satellite radio growing at an even faster pace and warns that broadcasters should not ignore it.
