Used to control 10 Nautel V transmitters, the ARC Plus features 256-channel capacity, allowing the broadcaster to control five transmitters per system. With the PlusConnect Nautel V, which interfaces directly to the transmitters via serial link, the project, says the company, requires substantially less remote control and I/O investment than with a legacy approach.
“What Qatar Media is doing is a perfect example of how the ARC Plus can scale up for a large project in a cost-effective manner,” said Jonathan Burk, vice president at Burk Technology. “Not only does this solution keep the project’s cost down, the effort to install is minimal with the direct transmitter links.”
Systems integrator Salam Media Cast will install the equipment for Qatar Media, which has also selected the Burk Plus-X 300 eight-channel I/O interface for additional I/O capability.
