The auction of the Quantegy Recording Solutions manufacturing facility in Alabama started this week and will close next Wednesday, Pro Sound News reports.
The Hilco Organization is handling the auction through its industrial division. The auction is being conducted online at www.hilcoind.com.
Equipment being auctioned includes Ampex and Studer tape machines, Sony and Panasonic digital VCRs, test and measuring equipment and the contents of multiple workshops. These include computer equipment, oscilloscopes, signal generators, noise and amp meters and test equipment.
Interested parties can contact Mark Reynolds at (205) 595-5999.
Though Quantegy ceased production of magnetic tape and stopped accepting orders a year ago this week, as reported here at the time, two manufacturers have moved to fill the void. Netherlands-based RMG International (with North American headquarters in New Buffalo, MI) and York, PA-based ATR Magnetics manufacture tape in quarter-, half-, one- and two-inch configurations, PSN reported.
