Quincy Sees the Flood Waters

If you've eaten at the Pier, check out these pix.

Quincy, Ill., is a big town in radio RF circles. It also is called “Gem City.” But you could call it “Sandbag City” this week.

If you’ve been there for transmitter training, perhaps you’ve eaten at The Pier. Here are a couple of photos of that restaurant that are making the rounds of Harris and Broadcast Electronics employees, demonstrating the level of water from the Mississippi. Both companies have operations in the area.

Reuters reported Thursday the river in the region had “surged past levees and spilled into farms, small towns and parkland on Thursday, adding to billion-dollar losses that have ignited global food inflation fears.”
