The Radio Advertising Bureau is offering two versions of a 30-second public service announcement to assist radio stations to support blood drives and other disaster relief efforts. Both versions include sound bites from Sept. 11’s events.
All radio stations may use the free RAB-created PSAs. To download a copy of either spot, go to www.rab.com and click on “Disaster Relief PSA” under “What’s New.”
One version is targeted to blood drive efforts, while the second is customizable, allowing stations to insert information at the end of the spot that is appropriate and necessary to specific circumstances.
“It occurred to us that many stations may not have any public-service announcements focused on disaster relief, or may have a generic one but want a PSA tied specifically to the tragedy,” said Christa Dahlander, vice president, RAB Communications.
The RAB also acknowledged that many stations might have produced similar announcements. Stations that would like to share the PSAs they have produced with the rest of the industry may e-mail .mp3 or wav files to RAB at this address: todd@rab.com.
