Radio Apps on Apple Watch

New devices begin to ship Friday

Several radio apps will be compatible with the Apple Watch, some versions will ship Friday to consumers who have already preordered the device, while others will ship in May and June.

NPR One and Pandora are two radio apps included on the device.

The iHeart Radio app, available in iTunes, has been updated to refresh its player and Apple Watch integration with voice-activated search.

TuneIn is now compatible with Apple Watch. TuneIn says listeners will be able to “change stations, jump to recent and related stations, follow stations and shows, play, pause and skip through content, and see what’s playing” from the Apple Watch.

TuneIn is also compatible with the iPhone’s CarPlay feature. Once users install the latest version of TuneIn Radio on their iPhone, the app will appear on any CarPlay-compatible in-dash receiver when connected. “We’re constantly innovating to ensure we are on the newest devices,” says TuneIn VP Product Kristin George.
